Bepresentatives of five major American air transport lines signed a contract with the Douglas Aircraft Company t'or a new experimental transport plahc. The plaae niu«t be ablo to carry 40 passengers in 900 miles non-stop, or 220 passengers _ in aleeping compartments for 2000 miles non-stop. Its top speed must be at least 230 miles per UOur, and its eruising speed 193. ^It will have four motors, each of lOOO'horse power.
