Eyes To The Back
In many of the new season's fashions the chief interest lies in the back. Above are shown seven "backs." Top left, in black crepe, is cut on Princess lines and shows small buttons from neckline to hem, and pleats stitched half-way down tlie new swing fuJI skirt. Centre top, in black baby elephant's skin, has a smart shoulder yoke, cartridge pleated and forming a timic, full to the waistlmc. Top right, is a coat of black broadcloth trimmed with Persian lanib, cut on Princess lines and haviug extended shoulders and flaring skirt. In Ihe centre of the collcction is a more formal tunic in black crepe, the highlight being the loose double cross yoke which is very new and which drapes smartly across shoulders. Tunic and skirt are vandyked at the hem. The back view of the stamped . cire evening at lower left features two miniature tails resembling a man's dress suit and a flared back. Even the two buttons are there for emphasis. Next to this is yet another tunic, in effect only, however, the tunic coming frdm either side of the back panels, and tlie frock is made of royal blue moss crepe studded with small beads in groups of niiie.. Twelve buttons covered in the same material extend from the low back to the hips. At bottom right the back is the important part of this otherwise severe frock in black silk crepc, wliich shows a pleated tunic from waist to hem and a full sieevcd cffcct. Buttons cxtcnd from neckline and halfway down tunic skirt, and silvcr lcaves, trimming the neck and waist, give an added charm.
