COSY THEATRE

MYSTERY AND COMEDY. A double f eature programme scrrens at the Cosy Theatre to-night. The solution of a baffling murder committed directly in front of forty horrified witnesses who see the victim fall dead at their feet, but cateh no sight of tho murder er or.his weapon, is the basis of Paramount 'e "Murder with Pictures," with Lew Ayres and Gail Patrick. In an entirely new treatment for this type of picture, the identiity of the slayer is ultimately revealed in a whirlwincl finish by a photograph which was taken just as the crime was committed. A mere wisp of smoke in the photograph betrays the plotter and brealts a "perfect crime." What happens when a newspaperman with a flair for gags sets out to glve his former sweetheart the world 's most sensational wedding present, on the eve of her nuptials to anotlier man, forms the basis of the Paramount comedyromance, "Wedding ' Present," the second feature, with Joan Bennett and Cary Grant in stellar roles. "Wedding Present" is adapted from the hit Saturday Evening Post story of the samo name by Paul Gallico. It was directed by Richard Wallaee and produced by B. P. Schulberg as the flrst of his pictures under a new agreement with Paramount.
