"THREE SMART CIRLS" Dainty Deanna Durbin, a brilliant and altogether charming personality, is the attraetion at the Begent Theatre to-night, when Univereal's gay comedy, ' ' Three Smart Girls," continues its season. Surrounded by a cast of estabiished cinema favourites, ini cluding Binnie Barnes, Alice Brady, i Kay Milland, and Charles Winninger, this youtliful newcomer to the screen iives up to the advantage notices of her musical genius. She proves, to'o, that she is much more than just a singing child prodigy. Possessing exquisite beauty and rare charm, the talented girl gives a smooth performance. "Three Smart Girls" tells the amusing story of three daughters of a rich New Yorker who upsct their father's romance with a gold-digging blonde. The title roles are played by little Miss Durbin, Nan Grey, and Barbara Read. As the fathor, Charles Winninger essays a new type of role and turns in a fine performance. Miss Barnes plays the part of the- gold digger and Miss Brady is ideally cast as the. blonde 's scheining mother. Mischa Auer is an impoverished nobleman whom the three youngsters hire to lure the adventurcss away from their giddy parent. Ray Milland, John King, Ernest Cossart. Hobart Cavanaugh, Lueill© Watson, and Nella Walker are others in the cast. The outstanding supporting progjramme includes the first of the 1937 series of the "March °f Time," which is an advance on the old series, a spotts thriller "Skiing is Beheving," and the latest newsreels
