DUNEDIN, April 26. During the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. to-day 1.25 inches of rain fell in and around the city, with heavler fal'ls jn Otago Central. The Main South Roail was badly fiooded yesterday and traffie to-day is diverted by the Conical Hil's route. The highway to Central Otago, via Milton, is blocked by a big sllp bo tween Beaumont and Rae's Junctiou, In the city the rain caused several slips on the roads, the worst beiqg on the Cape Saunders road and tbe Port Chalmers Spit road, which may prevent traiiic for some days. The rail routes aro al] clear. Caught. by a slip from a hillside, « tourer car was swept from the Oape Saunders road yesterday into Wicbliffo Bay, nearly three chains from the road. The ear became bogged in the thick. silt in the road, and while the passengers were toiling to reiease it the hillsido eommenced to creep on tboui, noc.essi* tftting a hasty retreat. - .
