WELLINGTON, Saturday. John Arihur Rawden Blandford, ! aged 24, law clerk and representative | crieketer, was chasged in the Magis- ! trate's Cfourt to-day with the theft of ! £137 2/- from his employers, Perry, ' Perry and Pope, barristeri and solicitors, betweeg Gctober 12, 1936 and ; April 7, 1937, Mr Stiiwell, S.M., yas i on the bench. The aceused was not re- ! presented by counsel. DetectiverSergeant Boyle, who prpsecuted, said that the defalcations wero expected to be considerably in excess of the figures mentioned and lengthy investigations would have to be made. H® asked for a remand till April 28, In qrder to expedite the inqgiries it would be nepessary tq keep the acqused at the Central Police station and he asked for gn qrder to this effect. The accused had offered the PPlice his assistance in tracing tffe deficiencies. No application for bail was made by Blandford, who was uot called upon to enter a plea. A remagd was made tp April 28 and the order sought was made.
