CROQUET CLUBS HOLD THEIR CLOSING DAY

Last Wednesday was a perfect dav for tlie official closing of croquet clu^s alfiliated to the Hawkers Bay Association, held on the'Kia Toa lawns. Nearlv one liundred ' visitors were present. Napier, Omarunui, Havelock North antl Hastings clubs being represented. During tbe afternoon tea adjournment Mrs' Logan, president cf the association, presented silver buttons aud banners won during the season. CoinpetitioUs were held in the. afternoon, the winners being: — One-ball break, Mrs Beicher ; skittles, Mrs Pickiuing ; gQlf-eroquet, Mrs King ; ladder, Mrs Tomlinson.
