Awatea's Rough Trip
The Awatea, which arrived at 11.45 a.m. on Saturd.ay from Auckland and sailed at 9.12 p.m. for Wellington, had a very rough voyage from New Zealand. The speed was ocCasloualJy reduced to 12 knots, but averaged 16 during the worst phase. The ship came through unscathed.
