Tenders have been let in Dunedin for the construction of & gold dredge 176 feet long, 75 feet wide and 13 feet 6 inches deep, the largest in New Zealand, jt will be able to dredge 3,500,000 cnbic yayds per annnm. It is beittg built by the .Austral New Zealand Mining Company, Limited, and is to be operated on 1600 acres in the Lowi burn district.
