Auckland Resolufcion The resolution from the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, and passed by . Ihe last exeeutive meeting of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, regarding the freeiloiii oi the J/ress, was received without comment at a meeting of the Napier Ohaihber. The motion read:— "Reeognising that the freedom of the. newspaper Press is one of the prinoipal safeguards of democraey, the Assoeiated Chambers of Commeree regard with apprehensiou the attacks that have recently been made on the Press of the Dominion; aud urges upon the Government that, having regard to the many deelarations made in the past by its members in favour of complete freedom of publie expression, it should at onee thselaim any inteutiou of iuterfering with the freedom of the Press."
