Dunedin Rejects Proposal LABOUR EFFORT FAItS

• DUNEDIN, Last Night. By an overwhelming majority of 6970 votes to 2996 the ratepayers of Dunedin to-day rejected a proposal to raiee a loan of £100,000 for xoading purposes. Approximately half the number of persons on the xoll recorded their votes, a total of 10,073 voting out of a roll number of 20,817. Dnring the past fortnight the Mayor XRev. A. E. Cox) and the Labour councillors conducted a vigorous platform eampaign on behalf of the proposal. 4
