GISBORNE, This Day. "I am a loyal member of the Labour Party," said Mr, A. G, Hultquist, M.P. for Bay of Plenty, in an address at Patutahi last evening, "and, while I have been a member, we have never yet earried any resolution about tho Press of the Dominion. We have no right to criticise the Press and what' it publishes. If it does not say about • me the things I want said, the best ' thing I can do is get a Press of .my cwn. "Personally," continued Mr. Hultquist, "I have no fault to find with tho treatment given me by the Press and, in spite of criticism at election time, I can honestly say that I have had a fair run." Referring to Mr. Scrimgeour 's criticism, Mr. Hultquist- said that Mr. Scrimgeour was not his mouthpiece. * Defeuding Mr. Scrimgeour 's appointment, Mr. Hultquist said it would hot have heen honest to have advertised the position, "because we had* already decided that Mr. Scrimgeour was tho man for the 'job."
