(To the Editor*) Sir, — As an outcome o£ th© Hawke's Bay Herald, Hawke's Bay's morning paper, merging into the afternoon Hawke's Bay Tribune, the sefvices of Mrs M. W. Poley ("Eleonore") .terminate dt the end of this month. Dfi' behalf of a large number of citizens and representatives Of Various organisations I have been Asked pubKoly to express through the colnmns of your paner the appreeiation of her long, conscienfclous and able service. CoinCiding With the end of tbis month, is ber completion of 21 years' pfacticaiiv COntiunous seivice. She has been connected with both th# Hastings and Napier issnes of the Broadview, two separate issueS, also of Everybody *'s Weekly, a Napier publication, and did the Napier social side on the Hawke's Bay Tribune for a year, after which several years of free lancihg exclusive to the Hawke 's Bay Herald followed. In May, 1931, she jjoined th# staff of the sam# paper and since its merging has been with "the Herald-Tribtiue. I am sure that all sxncereiy congratnlate her on such a fine record, and trust that at some future date her services" will again be available. — YouTs, ete..
