Otane Anzac Service Arrangements for the Anzac Day ceremony in Otane have now been completed. Members of the Returned Soldiers' Association will narade at the Post Office at 2.30 p.m. and will march to the War Memorial, headed by the combined Waipawa Waipukurau bands, where the service will be conducted by the Rev. R. T. Hall. Members of the public are invited to attend and lav wreaths on the memorial. Art Union Prizes. During the years that art unions have been ruuning in New Zealand, only seven small prizes have gone to Otane residents, and by a strange coincidence four of these prizes havo gone to members of oue family. Hospital Board Meets. Tho following were present at the monthly meeting of the Waipawa Hospital Board held yesterday: Messrs W. H. Rathbone (chairman), T. P, Hunter, G. Warren, N. G. Hawthorn, W. Matthews, C. Thomsen, D. -Eddy, L. Glenny, D. W. Neild. The secretarymanager (Mr P. R. Smyrk), the medical superintendent of the hospital (Dr. W. B. Fisher) and tho medical superintendent of the Pukeora Sanatorium (Dr. P, C. Anderson) were also present. King George. Memorial Fund, The Waipawa Hospital Board decided to make a donation of 10 guineas to the King George V. Memorial Fund at its meeting yesterdav. Official Salary EevisionAt the monthly meeting of the Waipawa Hospital Board yesterday it was decided to def er the matter of office salary revisi,on pending the receipt of tbe inspecting accountant's report. Members of the office staff will be informed that any increases that may be made will be retrospective to April 1. Appreciation. At the last meeting of tho Waipawa Hospital Board, the managing-secretary was instructed to circularise all hospital boards, and members of these boards, in wEose districts travelling tubercular clinics were established. In reporting yesterday that this had been done, the seeretary said he had already received two letters of appreciation of the board's action from Mrs C. H. Wilson, member of the Waikato Hospital Board and president of the N.Z. W.D.F.U., and from Mr F. C. A. Leggetf, a member of the Cook Hospital Board. Hospital Levies, , When the Waipawa Hospital Board had approved of the estimates at their annual meeting yesterday, the chairjman, Mr W. H. Rathbone, said he thought tliat when members saw the levies made by other boards qn local bodies they would congratulate themsolves, as ratepayers, on the lightness of their own levy. As an illustration he quoted the case. of one big Hospital Board in the South whose levy' thie year had been raised from .252d in the £ to .336d in .the £. Late Mr Horiiblow. * Members of the Waipawa Hospital Board yesterday passed a motion of sympathy with Mrs Hornblow and her family in the loss of her husband. The chairman, Mr W. H. Rathbone, said that the Waipawa Hospital Board had had a good deal to do with Mr Hornblow, who was chairman of the Manawatu Hospital Board, in connection with the work of tbi» travelling tubercular clinics. Mr Hornblow had always been most helpful in his co-op^iution with the Waipawa board.

Earthquake Insurance. Discussing the Waipawa Hospitalf Board's earthquake insurance schemes at the monthly toeeting of the board yesterday, the chairman, Mr W- H. Rathbone, suggested that the insurance, which amounted to about £70 a year, should be renewed. Mr N. GHawthorn pointed out that the hospital buildings were not covered by hre insurance and a fire was a more likely occurrance than an earthquake. The managing seeretary of the board, Mr P. R. Smyrk read several confidential letters advising the renewal of the board's earthquake insurance policy. On the motion of Mr T. P. Hunter, seconded bv Mr D. W. Neild, it was decided to re1 r v the policy. Englne-Room Staff Revisian. At the monthly meeting of the , Waipawa Hospital Board yesterday it was decided to defer consideration of the revision of engine-room staffs pending advice as to the application of the new award and to instruct the tnanaging seeretary, Mr P. II. Smyrk, to communicate with the secretai'y of the Hawke' s Bay Employers' Association to ascertain when the award is likely to become law
