CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Thomas H- Lightfoot, middle-aged, a shunter employed in the Christchurch railway goods yard, was killed at 6-3(f p.m. to-day when he was run over by a rake of trucks and a C.O. class engjine. He died before he could be extricated from beneath the tender of the engine, which had to be jacked up to remove the body. Lightfoot was working on a rake of trucks moving in the opposite direction, and when he stepped off he was apparently caught by the foremost truck of the rake which an engine was pushing on the next track.
