Our Own Correspondent.)

Waipawa Racing Club Clears Bank Overdraft CREDIT BALANCE

(From

WAIPAWA, Last Night. A satisfactory feature of the balancesheet presented at the annual meeting of the Waipawa County Eacing Club, was that as a result of two successful meetings pa. the Hastings racecourse the bank overdraft of over £300 has been cleared and the club now has a credit balance of over £70. The president, Mr W. A. Tod, in moving the adoption of . the statement of accounts, said it was satisfactory to know that the club was now free of liability. IJnder the agreement' with the Hawke's Bay jockey Club, one more meeting would be held on the Hastings course, and with favourable weather the club's credit balance should be considerably augmented. It had to be borne in mind, however, that heavy expenditure on th8 grandstand and other buildings would be necessary before the 'club could race on its own ground again. The seeretary was instrueted to forward a letter to Dr. South, the club's surgeon, expreseing members' best wishes for a speedy recover'y. A donation of £1 !/■ was made to tho King George V. Memorial Fund. The eleetion of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: — President, Mr W. A. Tod; vice-president, Mr W. J". Wood; committee, Messrs A. E. Jull, fW. H. Rathbone, W. I. Limbrick, O. Uptpn, C. H. Critchley, H. S. Rathbone, T. E. Colquhoun, F. Staines, and C. F. Bainbridge; treasurer, Mr G. Taylor; auditor, Mr F. Holt; hon. surgeon, Dr. F. W. B. South; hon. veterinaTy surgeon, Mr A. M. Brodie; representative on the H.B. Jockey Club committee, Mr W. A. Tod.
