CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW
H.B. Society's Function Entries for all classes of the Hastings Hortioultural iSociety's chrysanthemum show. .close next Tuesday at Hixon's Seed Shop. No entries will be accepted after that date — or in other words, on the day of the show, which this year is to take place . on Wednesday, April 28. The show wiil be open from 2 o'clock in the afternoon till 9 p.m. Mr. Clark of Lower Hutt, will judge the chrysanthemums, Mrs. O. Anderson, of Taradale, the decorative classes, Mrs; Goldfinch, of Havelock North, the cookery classes and Mr. J. G. C. Mackenzie the miscellaneous classes. The general public are to be asked this year to judge the decorative table class, and if this innovation is successful it will probably hecome an established procedure. The society has made a special effort this year to solicit the support of the nurserymen, and others interested, and it is anticipated that -.the trade exhibits at the forthcoming show will be something out of the ordinary. The space booking for these exhibits is most satisfactory. Schedules of classes are obtainable from all seed and ilower shops, and the society is hoping that all flowerlovers will rally round this year and give the society the help along that it undoubtedly deserves.
