RAILWAY AND HARBOUR

Links in H.B.'s Development With the provision of modern harbour facilities for Hawke's' Bay at Napier, the establishment of the East Coast Eailway will forge a link in two great undertakings, which will have far-reaching effects in the development of this important part of the country. This statement was made by the chairman of the Napier Harbour Board, Mr. Trevor M. Geddis, in his annual report, adopted at the annual nieeting yestorday. "In the short period that work has been recommenced, substantial progress has been made, and in a few months it is anticipated the port of. Napier will be linked with Wairoa and a new era in progrcssive development established, " he added. "There is every reason therefore why the board should prosecute every means at its disposal in so pushing on with its harbour construction programme that settlers of the north will en joy the fulleat facilities provided by these two undertakings. ' '
