Trs m esJed that there was a surplus of nver £1500 on the year's workings ai;d that tuere was a very good aceuinulated fund. "I feel that we should write to the board, and also to our reprosentative on the board, expressing our appreciation of the wonderful work that it is doing," said the chairman, Mr H. W. C, Baird. "We know that it is splendidly organised, the farm is "excellentj ly managed, and a great help is being given to our youth, Tt is really wonderful work that the Houvard Estate Board is doing." "It is, in my opinion, one of the most nseful institutions in the qountry," declared Mr F. E. Smith. "We know that the place is welJ managed and particularly good work is being done on the land that it possesses. Qhere is a Jct of secohd and thirdclass land to be broken-in in New Zcju Jand, and tliose are the boys who can do it, witli the training they receive there.
