Bishop Recalls a "Lurid Address" "I would also like to express thanks to the representatives of the Press, whose reports of the Synod discussions have been accurate and inf ormative, " said Bishop Hilliard, of Nelson, in moving the usual votes of thanks at the conclusion of the Synod sessions in Hamilton. In the course of a humorous speech the Bishop entertained the members with amusing stories of ways in which some speakers had on occasion bden misreported in different publications. ♦♦I was once reported as having given a lurid address," he said. "The reporter afterwards assured me that he had written 'lucid' address. When I first read it I thought I may have reverted to my native tongue through excitement.' ' The remarlc was greeted with loud laughter, as the Bishop is An Australian. "We are very grateful to the representatives of the Press for the accurate publicity they have given us and for the free copies of papers they have distributed among members of the Synod," ho said in conclusion.
