MUNICIPAL THEATRE

Musical mystery "Sweet Surrender," a musical show released by Universal, opens at the Municipal to-night. It stars tliree newcomers who are destined to go a long j Way in pictures. Two of these are \ stars, Tam ara (and is she lovely?) and Frank Parker, the radio tenor. • The third is Helen Lynd, wliose daffy ccmedy is a masterpiece of foolery. Prominent in the proceedings is none otlier than Jack Dempsey former heavyweight cliampion. The Manassa Mauler, looking as good as wlien he was knocking them dead in tlie ring, plays in the scenes set in his New York restuarant. Another gorgeous scene is the SaJly Milgrim fashion show in which dozens of cute girls parade in late fall and winter styles through one of the grand salons of the giant S. S. Normandie. Dana Suisse has written some cliarming music iur "Sweet Surrender", including "Sweet . Surrender", "Take Tliis Ring", "I'm So Happy 1 Could Cry", "Love Makes the World Go Mound", "The Day You Were Born". "Let's Toddle Home", "Let us Have Peace", "Twenty-Four Hours a Day", "The Apassionata". The audience hears the voices of the actors on the screen. But what if the situation were altered, that the actors could also hear the voices of the audience? How often we could clear up in an instant a mystery which sorelj puzzles those sliadowy figures on tlu screen!
