PALMERSTON N., This Day. The Manawatu Trotting Club's annual meeting was held on, the Awapuni racecourse on Saturday in fine though very windy weather. There was a very big attendance and the totalisator handled £14,894 10/-, as compared with £7732 for the meeting held'last Labour Day, the increase heing £7162 10/-. The course was in fine order and the racing, With several close finishes, was particularly interesting. The Manawatu Cup was won by Miss Hinds 's mare Glorietta, from Reno and Doris Derby, and the McDonald Handicap hy the Waveiley candidate, Tan John, with Bronte rnd Arapai in the minor places.
