CORONATION BALL
Arrangements Discussed The Ooronation ball will be field in tfie Assembly Hall, Hastings, on tbe night of Wednesday, April 12, this, bemg decided on at a meeting beld in the Council Cbambers, when the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, presided over a good attendanc© of interested members of tfie publie. In his opening remarks, Mr Maddison stressed tfie desirability of fiolding Sucfi a function to commemorate the Coronation, and pointed out that tfie ball would be open to all members of tfie publie wbo wished to attend. Mrs T. H. Lowry suggested that tbe proceeds from the ball should be devoted to tfie King George V Memorial Appeal and thi3 was unanimously agreed'to. It was decided to write to the various organisations in tbe district, soliciting their support of the ball. The question of invitations was discussed, and it was decided not to issue invitations. The prices were fixed at 7/6 for single and 12/6 for double tickets. The Uance will commence at 8.45 and continue until 1.30. Tbe secretary was instructed to ongagie Mr Wi Duncan'e orcfiestra, from Dannevirke. Tfie following committees were appointed : — General committee, Mesdames T. H. Lowry W. G. Stead (or-
