Late Mr. Naki Hodges. Prxor to the eommencement oi Wairoa County Council business on' Wednesday,the chai.rm.anj Cr. A. G. Nolan, moved a vote'of condolen.ee with the relative« of the late Mr. Naki Hodges, of Mohaka, who had been a member of the council for gix years. He was a good type of settler, and a man possessing great commonsenge, said Cr. Nolan. Cr. W. Tait endorsed those sentiments, adding that the late Mr. Hodges had also been a member of the Hospital Board. The motion was carried in the usual way, all standing. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Grant, formerly of Wairoa, left by the Wanganella on Thursday for a holiday in Australia. Power Board Members' Pees. At the Wairoa Power Board 's meeting, the finance conunittee's report was passed, recommending the restoration of xnelnbers' fees to £1 !/•«
