The choice of Nel and Craven will have the unquaiified approval of all follower# of the game in South Africa. Nel is quiet, almost rCserved, off the field, but is a lion for work during play. He is a keen student of Rugby whose advice carries great weight. He is certain to be immemsely popUlar in Australia and New Zealand. The selection of Phillip Nel as eaptain of the 1937 Springboks was anticipated, and he should prove popular. He first appeared in first-class matches in 1921, representing Natal while still a pupil of the Maritzburg College. He has had considerable experience in international matches, playing against the British team in South Africa in 1924 and later against the All Blacks in South Africa in 1928. He toured the British Isles with the 1931 Springboks and eaptained the South Africans against the Wallabiea in 1933. He is 33 years of age.
