KEW YORK — Sugar consumption in the 13 Jeading European countries during 1936 totaled 7,692,633 long tons, raw sugar value, as contrasted witn 7,4.19,051 tons eonsumed during 1935, an increase of 273,582 tons,'or approximately 3.7 per cent., according to Lamborn and Co. Sugar stoeks on hand for tbese countries on January 1, 1937, amounted to 5,0S4,000 tons as against 5,062,000 tons on tbe same date in 1936, an increase of 22,000 tons, of approximately one baif of 1 per cent. Production of sugar for tbe 13 priueipal European countries for. tbe current season whieb started on; September 1, 1936, according to advices received from P. O. Licbt, tbe European sugar autbority, i3 foreeast at 5,859,000 long tons, raw sugar, as comp'ared with 5,608,000 tons in tbo previous season, an increase of 251,000 tons, or- 4.5 per cent.
