Fruit Gingcrbread Ingredients: ; 12oz. flour, 6oz. golden syrup, 2oz. black treacle, 6oz. butter, 4oz. sugar, J teaspoonf ul bicarbonate of soda, 1 heaiped ' teaspOonful ground ginger, J teaspOonful mixed spice, 2 small eggs, 4 tablespoonfuls Of milk, 2oz. cherrifes, 2oz,.raisins, 2 oz, almonds. Method': Sieve the flour, _ spices and soda into- a'bOwl. • Make a well in the centre ahd etir in the treacle, syrup,butter and sUgaT, which should be melted together ' over a gentle heat. Add the beaten eggs and milk. Beat well, stir in the chdpped- fruit and nuts, reserving a few • almonds to decorate the top. Pour the mixture into a sqUate eake 'tin lined with jgreased paper, bake in a moderate Oven fo* about 1 J hours
