She even talks and sings in Chinese, and she takes charge of a fascinating romance, faces danger in glittering Shanghai, prforpis in a Chinese theatre and, in short, plays the most nnusual role she 's ever had, in her. new picture, '.'Stowaway." Little Miss Temple plays the role of a little orphaned waif iadrift in China, a victim of the bandits. She becomes an unwitting stowaway on a cruise liner on which Robert Young, a bored mil-lion-aire, Alice Faye and the latter's prospeetive mother-in-law are travelling. Shirley brings Alice, and Young together much to the ehagrin of the oliler woman, who promptly eables her sou, Alice 's fiance. to meet tlie boat at Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Shirley, Alice and Young go out to see the sights and have a wonderful time together, Shirley winning a prize in a local theatre by singing in Chinese.' The nianner in which Shirley finally helps her handsome benefactor win the hand of Alieo Faye, who was promised to another, provides excellent entertainment.
