Dry Weather Affects Sports Ground SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT As the result of dry weather and no water being available, the sportn ground at Cornwall Park has suffered, stated the Borough Superintendent . of Reserves, Mr J. G. C. Mackenzie, la his monthly report to the Hastings Borough Council last evening. The work of the month for his department has been of a routine nature. An effort is being made to reduce maintenance work as far as possible. With this object in view, the cultivated areas around the trees in Nelson street, and 'ailway road, reserves and the shrub border at the southern, end of Nelsoa Park were being filled with soil and prepared for sowing down in grass. He reported that the camping feei at the Motorists' Camp at Windsor Park last month totalled £33 16/-. Eighty-three parties passed through the camp. Mr Mackenzie also recommended that cars, other than those of campers, he proliibited from parking in Windsor Park after sunset. The council, however, decided .'that a apecial parking area be arranged in the park for non-campers. • It was decided also that the maintenanc© and planting of all the railway plots be undertaken by the council in th© future, and that the firms who have provided the nceessary plants forthe same in the past b© written to and thanked for their services.
