LATE MR. R. C WRIGHT
Services to Education EefcrenCe to the Tecent death of Mr E. 0. Wright, a Napier member of the Hawke's Bay Education Board, was made by tlio chairman, Mr G. A. Maddison, at this morning Js meeting. Expresaions of sympatby to the late Mr Wright 's widow and family were voiced. and recorded in the minutes. "It was only two months ago that I referred to the late Mr Wright 'a retirement from the Education Board, and to the very fine service which he had rendered to the cause of education," said Mr' Maddisoil. "It is with profound rogret that so soon aftor his retirement I ehoUld be mbved to record our deepest sorrow at his passing and that our friend did not live to enjoy a respite and a rest from the strenuously busy life he had led in so many acfivities and with such earnestness of purpose. "He joined the board 14 years ago and we are cdnscious and appfeciativo of his sustaiiled and deep interest in education. He was in every sense a builder — always planuing and Working to strengthen and broaden education. He wap a man always and he will live in our memories because of our affection for him — an affection that drew ue closely to him so that we knew the mind and philosophy and soul of our friend that he applied in his service to others."
