Values Hold for Best Sorts HEAVY ENTRIES CHEISTCHUECH, Last Night. Exceptionally heavy entries of sheep wero f orward at ^ today 's Addington market and both fat and store sections held recent values for best sorts. Store sheep: The entry included sheep -from South Otago and Marlborough, in addition to more than 2000 from the Chatham Islands. Best Eomney 4 and 5-year Chatham Eomneys made • from 29s to 31, iSouthland Eomneys to 31s 6d, mixed aged local Corriedales to 32s, and 4-year half-bred to 29s 3d. Most of the old sheep sold draggingly and passings were numerous but quality was in'keen demand. Fat lambs: The improved schedule of up to 9Jd for up to 36 's hardened the maTket to actually above parity. The sale was keen for au indiffsrent quality. The entry of fat sheep penning was the heaviest of the season and although the inarket was irregular, it finished up firmly at little difference on the Tates of last week. Best wethers made from 29s to 33s 4d, good from 26s to 28s, and light down to 22s; best ewes sold from 23s to 27s 6d, good 19s to 21s, and light and aged down to 13 s. Fat cattle: A heavy penniny of 580 head, making 1200 iu the last fortnight. The over-supply caused a sharp easing of about 20s a head for all except a few pens of young cattle. Best steers £13 to £14 17s 6d, good £11 to £12 ls, ' and ordinary and light down to £8 15s; best heifers £9 to £11 10s, good £7 18s j to £8 15s, light down to £5 5s; best cows £8 to £10, medium down to £6, and light to £4 10s. Fat pigs : The entries were a shade lieavier and there was a slight improvement in values. Baeoners made from 1 . 47 s 6d to £4, average price per lb. 5£d J to 5|d; porkers 37s 6d to 50s 6d, ayer- | age per lb. 5Jd to 6£d.
