Instruclive Addresses at Takapau

• TAKAPAU, Last Night. The monthly meeting of the Takapau Young FaTmers' Olub was held in the Town Hall on Monday night, presided over by- Mr. Eay Edgecombe, when there was a large number present. The chairman gave a very lueid- review of the recent visit to the Smedley Estate, stating that he was snre such a visit would be of great benefit to all those who were able to go. It was decided to ask Mr. T. Taylor, schoolmaster, Takapau, $p give an address at the next meeting of the club, the ■members to bring a suitable subject for a debate for the following meeting. The chairman introduced Mr. Ian Holmes, who gave a yery able discourse on autumn top-dressing with supeiphosphate and liming, stating that they not only improved the state of the pasture, but also the health of the stock, which was very important. Mr. Palmerj Agricultural Instructor, then gave a very instructive address on the various kinds of seeds for pasture on different kinds of land. He had an excellent array of samples, sq that the young farmers would be able . to discern the various kinds of seed at sight, and further explained the proportions for sowing on good and inferior land and that at all times to sow nothing but the best seed. The. chairman tendered the thanks of the club to the speakers for their practical and instructive addresses.
