TRAFFIC OFFENCES

Several breaches of the motor' regulations led to charges being preferred against iseveral motorists in the Hastings Magistrate's Court .this morning. James Halpin, for driving a _ motor vehicle which was not properly lighted, was fined £1 10/-, with costs 10/-. Defendant wrote pleading guilty. Barry Bros., Ltd., for overloading a lorry, were fined £1 10/-, with costs 10/-. Defendants wrote stating that they were under a misapprehension as to the weight of the load carried when the offence Occurred. The lorry had since been raised to a higher classifieation. For a similar offence, J. H. Kenderline was fined £1 10/- with costs 12/-. Gavin Dlckie, for failing to give way uo traffic approaching on his right. svas fined £1 10/- with costs 12/-. Defendant wrote admitting the- offence and stating that he had the sidescreen of his car up, and did not see the other vehicle.
