Stewart, when asked this morning if there was any likelihood of the college authoiities carrying out the suggestion made by Mf McCallum at the board of governorS meeting that a tree be planted in the college grounds in honour of the future Duchess of Windsor. Mr Stewart emphasised that sueh a thiug had never been seriously considered by the board or the school. Although he was unable to say what the boaid would' decide, he believed he had a* very good idea. Asked this morning if he intended to take the majter any further, Mr McCallum maintained that it was a subject for serious consideration by the board whether it intended to fuliil the promise made to the Duke when he visited Blenheim as Prince of Wales and planted a commemorativve tree at the college, ' * "Of course, it is for the board to say," added Mr MeCallum. "I am only one member. The Duke was the most admirable Prince the nation has ever had. We must Temember that, of course, the question of paying tribute to his wife may have to be held over for a while until feelings have died down."
