Labour-Liberal View of Position (Keceived 14 8.46 a.m.) LONDON, April 13. There was a period of liveliness in the House of Gommons when after ihe statement by "the Prime Minister, Mr Stanley Baldwin, in connection with warnings to British shipping, the Labour and Liberal - Oppositions hotly protested over the Government' s refusal to ehallenge General Eranco and escort British merchantmen to Bilboa. The Opposltion is becoming increasingiy resentful of Fascist countries snubbing Britain and Beek drastic act^gn, but the Governmeut's case could not be explained in the afternoon. The Labour Party leade?, Major C. R. Atlee, gave notice >£ iutention to move a motitm to the effect that the House deplored the failure of the Government to protect British merchant ships "on their lawful occasions."
