POWER CONSUMERS
Increase in Hawke's Bay Fifty-seven new cbnsumers have enrolled with the Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board during the past month, 29 in the country area and 28 in Hastings. In addition to these, the board has taken over 315 consumers who hitherto were enrolled with the Havelock North Town Board. The plant and reticulation of the Town Board was taken over as from April 1. A proclamation has been signed by* the- Governor-General bringing the Havelock North Town District within tho district of the Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board, which is at present erecting an extension to its 11,000 volt line, to enable a stand-by supply to • be given to the consumers of Havelock North. "When this is completed it will mean that in the event of the Havelock North plant shutting down, supply can immediately be given from the Government hydro systcm. Details of the new consumers enrolled and additiohal equipment installed during the past month are set out in the following table. —
