Anzac Day in Wairoa. It has now been decided that Poppy Day will be observed on April 24 iu Wairoa. .The day of commemoration falling this year ->ii a Sunu-y, the parade will be hejd in the afternoon so as not to interfere with the morning Church services.' The other arrangements will be the same as last year, except that the hour is changed. The Mayor, Mr H. L. Harker, will be one of the speakers, and efforts are to be made to g/et Colonel R. Gambrill aliso to attend, while the local clergy are to be asked to nominate one speaker from among them. The hour fixed is 2.30 p.m. and should the day happen to be wet the Gaiety Theatre will be the meeting place. Men's Club in Wairoa. At a meeting of the committee of the St. Paul's Men's Club, Wairoa, it was agreed to hold the first club night 011 April 15. The gathering is to take the form of a s?c-al evening. and a full initial muster is asked for. - Cups Won. The Nuhaka Sports Club has awarded the following cups in connection with. the recent sports. — McKenzie Memorial Cup, "Miss Judy Shortt; Maiden Cup, Mr Eric Te Ngaio ; Open Hunters, Mr W. Talbot; Mr Tidswell's cup, most points, Mr W. Talbot. Induction of Minister. There was a large and representative congiregation at Trinity Methodist Church, North Clyde, .Wairoa, on the .occasion of the induction of the Ilev. J. H. Woolford, of Auckland, the new-ly'-appointed mxnister, and the farewell to the Rev. Bernard Teague, who recently resigned from the eharge. The Rev. H. J. Odell, Napier, carried out the induction serviee assisted by the Rev. W. A. Mills, Greenmeadows. Mr G. Malxnquest, Circuit, Stewart, was chairman. The annual meeting of the Otane sub-branch of the Plunket Society, was lield in the Plunket Room. The aunual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Steps are being" taken to form a male voice choir in Waipukurau and from the number who have signififed their keen interest the promoters' ;anticipate no diJficulty in securing the necessary voices. Busy Day at Waipawa. An unusually large number of cars appeared to be in the Waipawa main street yesterday, due, no doubt, to ihe •farmers' being in town en route to the Waipukui'au saleyax'ds.
