Aucklander Goes to Gaol

AUCKLAND, April 9. A sentesce of three months imprisonl&ent on three charge/ of sly-grog selling was imposed on Eoy McGregor . in the Police Court this morning. The police said that the defendaut had been iined £50 in 1935 and £100 last year. A room in a city building occupied by McGregor was Taided on February 13. There were 29 men and women on the premises. McGregor told the police that it was "a kind of elub or Testaurant/' but the contencs pive no indication of its being eithcr. Ipparently the only pnrpose for which it was used was for the sale of liquor. Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., said McGhregor had been given chance after ihance.
