PROGRESS THROUGH H.B. OF GUIDES' LOYAL MESSAGE

The . iiluminated map and loyal address which the Girl Guides of New Zealand ure sending to King George and Queen Elizabetfi at their Coronation is at present bqing passed by hand from oue Guide district to another unfeil it has visited, all ' the provinceS in the Dominion. The message will arrlve in Hastings to-morrow and will be carried to - the Hastings Borough Councii Chamibers, where it will he tfeceived by His Worship the Mayor, Mr G. A- Maddison, at 5.30 p.m. After reading it Mr Maddison will affix the borpugh seal and the next morning the scroll will be carried by the Hastings Guides as far as Opapa, where it will arrive at 9.45 a.m. and he handed first to a Guide of the Waipawa Company and at Otane to a Lone Guide of the 1st. H.B. Lone Company. From there it will be carried by relays of Guides to the Waipawa Borough Councii Chambers, which at 10.45 His Worship the Mayor will affix his seal. Waipawa Guides, travelling by way of the railway foot bridge, will carry the scroll as far as the JVlataweka Pa turnoff where it will be delivered to a Guide of the Waipukurau Company, members of which wiil bring it to the Mayor of Waipukurau at lz.15. After the address has been read and the sea! affixed this company will be responsible for carrying the message over the hill and delivenng it to Takapau Guides wlio in turn will pass it on to a second Lone Guide who is to be stationed at the Matamau Store. There being no Guide Company in Dannevirke, the H.B. Lone Guide Captain will carry the message through the town and hand it on to a Guide from Woodville. At 4 p-m. the Mayer of Woodville will affix the Borough Seal and the message will be seiit down the Wairarapa being transferred to a Guide from that aiea halfway to Pahiatua. Miss Elsie Williams, of Frimley, Hastings, the new Provincial Commissioner for Hawke's Bay, will be present at each mayoral ceremony as sbe is taking advantage of this unusual sequence of Guide gatherings to irtake lier first tour of the Sauthern Division. She will be accompanied by Miss McHardy, District Commissioner for Central H.B.
