Inquest on Vieiim Opened The inqnest concernirig the death bf Mr Frank "Wild, whose bo.dy was fourid lying on the Toadside neat BaHpaM bn Wedriesday mbrning with a broken neck and other injarieS, was opened at the Hastings Corirthouse yesterday afternoon, the District Cdrorief, Mr Geo. Ebbett, J.P., presidiftg. DeteCtiveSergbant Leo Eevell Conductbd the proceedings on behalf of the poliee, James York Burnside^ pensibner, residing at 206 Warren street, after giving evidence of identificatibn of' the deceased, whom he had known for over 10 years, said that he last saw Mr Wild alive about 6 o 'dlock bri Taesday evening when he Was leaving witriess's hoirie fb gb to Pakipaki, where he confemplated etaying the night bbfore going into the country where he had been promised a job at the end bf the morith. "He was qtiitb Sbber arid appeared to be in the best of health When he left," said witneSs. "I kneW it would be dark before he reachbd BCll's hrit at Pakipaki and asked him tb stay With mb overnight, but he rbfused to do thiS, sayirig that he was not frighteried arid tiibiight riothing bf Walkirig in darlcness. ' At this stage the Coroner adjourned proceedings sine die to enable the polieS to make further inqniries.
