AUTUMN FASHIONS SHOW FUR-TRIMMED COATS
There are special features about thii 8&ut&n*$ fur-trimmed coats' wiicfc diiiinguish them ■from tKo'se , bf other years. A great deal of fur is used and this lavish trimmilig is ingfenioftwly arranged so that in some of the neatest coats the appearance of a suit or coatfrock rather thah a coat is snggested. Belts are found on mahy coats, and buckles are handsome. A waisted line is a feature of the 116# styifes, som© of which have gofred skirts, white others have a w'ide wfapOvOr hhd a faifly strhight skiffc-lino. A very Emart coat in a *Wiskered" black cloth ibas a six-gotdd skirt, a waisted line, and novet revers brought forward and then folded hack and trimmed with Pfersiati lanib. Another, ako trimined with Porsian ldi&by wliich fbrms a flat round collar over a secoud dolla# of tfie cloth,, is htted to the figure, and has a tailoied sleeve and a very sriiait plaited leather helt. The new hloched shottlders are shown on other Coats, ahd a coat iri a flecked brown material trimmed witii silver fos has paddfed shohlders standing out from the coat and pleated at the top j this line gives the effect of a srdiall ttaiSt." , A good deal of fox.is tified as a trimming; silver fox is seen. on many of the new models and on one coat it forms a big oollar and is alfio ttsed o« tttnio side pieces, giving an illtision of a coat and ekirt. A coat that fastens down the side has broad bands of Silver fox arranged just above the knee, and the wide "frame" collar of the fox is brought dotvn the front, of the coat to the waist. The helt of this coat is finished with & massive buckle made of silver hraid. Blue fox is tised oh other coats and there is a considerabl© amotint of dyed Arctic fox oh coats iri coloured mater'ials. A good deal of drivetyri and bouclet cloths are tised' for coats as wfell as riiariy jlew cloths with* a haity of fea'thferbd surface. A soft Van Dyck-brdwri drivetyri coat is trimmed with a frame collar in Arctic dyed fox and has a wide wfap-Ove'r and a belt witB a big bronte buckle.- Another bfowri coat iri orie of the hairy diaterials has a rounded double collar of browri iairib and its bwri riiaterial. Green in various ehades of soft novelty materials is being shown, and a very jmart fcbat in a bronze-gfeen f eather cloth has a big fox collar dyed to the same eliade. The retrirn of tibe 'Tramfe" collar in fox is" welcome, as it is far more hecoiriiiig thari a cbllaf in one of the flat furs. Some of ihe nfew inodels place the waist somewhat high and aim at a Di.ectoirb line* This is bettef iri evening than in day coats, as it needs a long skirt to give the right balapee. Some thr'ee-qriarter lengths coats with a modified swing back are also being trimmed with fur for* early autumn. In a close fine black hopsack a finder-tip length coat has a silver fox collar and has the top df ihe sleeve gathered into the shoillder lirie. A riufnbef of tweed coats in the nerir flecked homeepuhs are tririlined with fur. A noveity is a shrided sjjriirffel from light to dark brown forming collar and wide revers on a country ceat in a big cliedked tweed. Beaver ahd black musquash are other furs that suit the new tweeds and are used in conventioiial Ways, risually With big fevfers. For evenirig there are elaborate long coats on romantic lines in Regency styles in black Velvet and erminej one particularly lovely coat was high waisted With a high Cbllaf rihd revers of vyhite ermine and the train slit at eaeh side to ease the movement. Brilliaht lacquered njaterials ahd cloque lames are hsed for other evening coats, sdine of Which are three-quarter length, and all have an air of glistening splendour. "
