LONDON DECREES HUGE FLOWERS IN THE HAIR
Provided you have an evening gown faultlessly cut, in exquisite " material, floor length, very low back and front, then have the courage to he modish and wear an elaborate head-dress. , Flowers worn in the best collections this year on the hair are huge. So are those tuched in at the waist — at the back — not in front. Head-dresses are of tnlle, taffeta, ninon, georgette, and of closely massed flowers. Most of them are in crescent shape, and are wired. These can be adorned with sequins, pearls, or diamente, mounted on the material used. Very chic are large erect tulle arrangements radiating from the crescents. These give inehes to your height, are imposing, but remember that they would be ridiculous worn with anything bnt liixnrious fabrics. Seleeted suitably, there is no feeling of "fancy dress"; badly chosen, they would be tawdry, and reminiscent of the girl who jumps through the hoop at a circiis. The wearing of feathers, flowers, bandeaux and filmy tulles for the evening is a growing fashion. Leading dress designers'' gnpport the milliners. Schiaparelli and Molyneux are all for them. Jean Patou has some that are charming. Among the milliners are such names as Agnes, Talbot, Louise Bourbon. Ostrich feathers in a tight cluster are caught to the front or side of the head by an invisible band. A bunch of roses is fixed in the same way, and Patou has had the delicate idea of having a transparent, slightly stiffened black tulle veil to float away behind. Another fashion is the wearing of little coloured wings — of the bright little birds, or of brilliant butterflies. They are set among waves and curls in ■TvriorTitlv fashion, all ready for flight.
