DANCE HELD AT CLIVE

A very successful dance was held in the Clive Publie Hall on Tuesday night when a very large number danced to the music of Les Henry's Orchestra. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mrs Bert. Cu'shing. The dance was in aid of the Whakatu Queen (Miss Molly Jeffray), who wore dainty white taffeta patterned with, blue spray s. There were also present Miss Joyce Kale, Labour Queen, in a frock of white satin, and Miss Efleen Kale, the Queen for the General ILabourers, wearing pale pink. The ladies ' committee responsible for the jsupper arrangements were Mesdames Jeffray, McKee, Alg. Harrison, McHlwraith, Ogilvie, Cleary and Burge. The supper tables were decorated in blue and gold, the Queen 's colours, and the decorative scheme in the 'hall was carried out in the same colours. Competitions were won by Mrs McHlwraith and Messrs Treasure and Meredith. The Monte Carlo was won by Mr Ivanoviteh and partner.
