DANNEVIRKE MEETING
To Be Held at Woodville For the past three seasons the Dannevirke Racing Club has held a meeting on the Woodville racecourse with the hope of making a profit to Teduce its heavy indebtedness and ease the liability of the guarantors, but on eaeh occasion bad weather has spoilt the meeting. It speaks well for the pluck of the management that in the prograrame for its next meeting, to be held at Woodville on April 30 and May 1 next, it is giving treble the amount in stakes required by the rules of racing, which is only 15 per cent. of the last season's totalisator turnover. Racehorse owners are sportsmen and, as such, have a kindly sympathy for the club battling against adversity. It is, therefore, pretty well assurerl ithat they will support the club by providing good fields and the sporting public will- not be glow in following their example. Nomindtion day, April 16, will be advertised later in the Herald-Tribune. I
