AUCKLAND, Last Kight. An intimation that the Government had in view legislation to elinpnata , slum areas under which it would pay - for the value of the land but not for worthless buildings, was given by Mu J. A. The following resolution was adopted:— "That this meeting of Auckland citizens thanks Mr Lee for his infonnative and inspiring address and con-' gratulates the Labour Government on the establishfnent of a housing scheme designed to produce houses of high quality for the people of Kew Zealand.
