£20,000 Programme to Begin Immediately PRELIMINARY . METALLING The Hawke's Bay County Couneil's tar-sealing programme, which had to bd postponed during the "past t'inancial year mainly because of expenditure on storm damage- repair, is to be carried out this year. The programme involyos tho expenditure of £20,000, which will come out of revenue for the year end. ing March 31, 1938. Successful tenderers fpr the preparatory metalling work on the highways to roceive attcution have been advised, of the acceptuaces pf their tenders and have been. asked to start operationa immediately. The roads tb receive the most afctoution are those bettveen Waiohiki and Pakowhai, Tukituki and Haumoana, Hastings and Waimarama' and Mangateretere and T§ Awanga. Work on other main highways which will not be included , in 'the . Cousty CounciPs pr'o_ gramme will be cOmmenced at a later date, but in time for the sealing to bn doue at the end of this year.
