BRIDESMAIDS GIVE AFTERNOON TEA FOR FUTURE NAPIER BRIDE
. A very happy time was spent yesterday afternoon in -the lounge of the Masonic Hotel, Napier, wiien Miss Wever Lopdell, Seafield, Eskdale, who is to be married to Mr John Parsons, Meeanee, next week was tendered a kitchen tea by her bridesmaids-to-be, the Misses Ella Lopdell and Margaret Walker. Seasonable flowers and foliage in bowls and baskets made an effective decoration in the lounge. Conversation and a delicious tea were enjoyed until • the future bride was asked to open her gifts. This she did, being assisted by her hostesses, and a very choice colloction of modern pottery, linen and kitchenware was revealed. In a neat speech Miss Lopdell thanked all for their kindness. Several ladies who were invited to attend had sent apologies and with them a gift and good wishes. Miss Walker wore a very attractive tunic ensemble in figured cloque in a pretty shade of royal blue; her Peter Pan toque of velour matched and was finished with a contrasting quill. A Braemar model suit in rust wool was worn by Miss E. Lopdell alid her felt hat to tone had a smartly upturned brim. The guest of honour, Miss W. Lopdell, chose an attractive frock of scarlet fancy crinkle cloque, the bodice finished with a large black striped satin bow; her Peter Pan toque of scarlet felt was finished with narrow blace eye veil and quill. There were present: Mesdantes L. Lopdell, E. Cray,. E. H. Simpson, Harrison, Orr, E. T. Bees, L. and C. Preedman, Beuth, Walker, G. Young and Tansley; Misses Wever Lopdell, Ella Lopdell, Margaret Walker, M. and E. Lopdell, Betty Cray, V. Kendall, Bunty Cray and Nola Wilson.
