LICE-INFECTED SHEEP

Six Farmers Fined Six cases of exposing lice-infeeted sheep for sale at the Stortford Lodge saleyards were dealt with by Mr. J. Miller, S.M., at the Hastings Magistrate's Court this morning, the defendants being Chriistopher Pickering Haldane, Thomas Burgess, Ealph Arden Yule, Karl Henry Ruddenklau, Douglas Harris and John Nelson Lane. All the defendants pleaded guilty, saying that the sheep came from high country, where it was not usual to dip the sheep until March, and the owners were not aware that the isheep were affected. All, with the exception of Harris, whose floek exeeeded 200 in number, were fined £l 10/-, with costs 10/-. Harris was fined £2, with 10/- costs.
