Waipukurau Returns

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Returns of business handled at the VV aipukurau Railway Station for the four weeks ended Marcb 31 are as follow, the figures for the corresponding period last year being shown in parentheses : — Outward. — Cattle 146 (338), Sheep 41, '331 (34,013), Timber (feet 49300 (900), Goods (tons) 640 (318), Passengers 1520 (2535), Revenue £2032 (£1613). Inward. — Cattle 46 (349), Sheep 535 (855), Timber (feet) 41,400 (34,600), Goods (tons) 2210 (1264), Revenue £1739 (£1427). The decrease in the number of outward passengers is largely aceounted for by the fact that the school excursion was not held this year. Last year there were 1100 passengers on the sciiool excursion.
