Butter Easier in London The London market for Kew Zealand butter is quiet, according to a cabled report received by the Primary Products Marketing Department and issued by the Dairy Board. The market is weaker for Danish, Dutch and Argentine butter. Friday's closing prices were as follow, those for the previous week and a year ago being shown in parentheses:— Kew Zealand, salted, 99/- to 100/(100/- to 101/- a year ago, 87/- to 88/-); 'unsalted, 102/- to 104/- (102/to 103/-; a year ago, 86/- to 88/-). Australian, salted, 99/- to 100/(100/- to 101/-); unsalted, 103/- to 104/- (101/- to 102/-). ATgentine, unsalted, 92/- to 94/(90/- to 94/-). • Danish, 94/- f.o.b., 118/- spot (100/-J 126/- to 128/-). Dutch, unsalted, 95/-, ex. 100/- (98/to 100/-). Eetail priees are unchanged, Kew Zealand at 1/- and Danish at 1/3 a lb. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week were 1844 tons, compared with 3223 tons a year ago, and the quantity, in store was 5370 tong, as against 3740 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter last week were 1161 tons, as against 1770 tons, and the quantity in store was 4912 tons, compared with 2040 tons a year ago, The Imperial Economic Committee estimates stocks of all butters in store at ' 650,686 boxes, compared with 384,266 boxes a year ago. The cheese market is firm. Friday's closing prices wero as follow, those for the previous week and a year ago being shown in parentheses: — New Zealand, white and coloured, 65/6 to 66/- (63/- to 63/6; a year ago, 52/6. Deliveries of ITew Zealand clifcese last week were 14,779 • rates, compared with 24,073 crates a year ago, and the quantity in store was 86,666 crates, compared with 80,269 crates at this time last year.
